Founded in 1967 as Dongwon Textile, SUPERIOR is a first-generation Korean fashion company
that has written the history of Korea’s golfwear and textile fashion market with many firsts for over 50 years.

Founding of Dongwon Textile, the predecessor of SUPERIOR
Dongwon Textile, the predecessor of SUPERIOR, is founded in Euljiro, Seoul

The start of the fashion brand business
Launch of ‘Boramae’, Korea’s first fashion brand to commercialize ‘Silket’ fabric

1979 – 1990
Launch of Korea’s first golfwear brand
Launch of ‘SUPERIOR’, Korea’s first golfwear brand, and full-scale expansion into the golfwear industry

1995 – 2000
Growing with Korea’s golf industry
Hosted the Superior Open, the industry’s first golf tournament, and began official sponsorship of K.J. Choi in 1996, followed by support for many professional golfers every year

2000 – 2011
Expanding the fashion & licensing business
Expansion into fashion and licensing by acquiring master licenses for overseas brands from Italy, France, and elsewhere, and establishing local branches

The start of a fashion-centered group business
Diversified into a group business centered on fashion, with cultural businesses such as Superior Gallery and the World Golf History Museum, real estate, finance, and affiliates in Korea and abroad, including the acquisition of Martine Sitbon S.A.S in France
